Background

The Anatomists are a fractured order, united less by rank or doctrine than by a shared obsession with the possibilities hidden beneath skin and bone. Their most accomplished members embody the many paths this obsession can take: surgical mastery, forbidden scholarship, battlefield transformation, ritual devotion and the relentless pursuit of bodily transcendence.

No two follow precisely the same methods. Some regard the body as scripture, others as weapon, vessel, or raw material. Yet all believe that pain reveals truths untouched flesh cannot comprehend. Their scars are credentials, their alterations declarations of purpose and their survival proof that the limits of mortal anatomy are meant to be challenged.

Among them, experience is not measured in years but in procedures endured, discoveries made and lives reshaped. Even the newest initiates are expected to learn through direct contact with the craft. To walk among these figures is to witness the Anatomists as individuals who have made themselves part of the experiment.
