BACKGROUND

Cerebrants possess the most extreme mnemonic anatomy among the Progenitors. Their swollen skulls preserve generations of calculation, lineage records and inherited patterns of thought, supported by a dense reserve of power within the same cranial structures. This gives them a mind capable of carrying centuries of memory, comparison and learned judgement at once.

Progenitor Nodes extend this relationship between memory, power and function into the structures left by their civilisation. Designed as physical interfaces, they allow Cerebrants to plug directly into a node and employ the specialised function preserved there. Their exact capabilities vary according to purpose, but the principle remains the same: an ancient mind connecting directly to a system built to receive it.

To outsiders they may appear little more than strange remnants of a vanished civilisation. To a Cerebrant, they remain functional components of an order whose purpose has never truly been forgotten.
