Myrmidons formed the adaptable core of Progenitor warfare. Generations of inherited martial experience gave them an instinctive grasp of timing, terrain, and the changing rhythm of a fight. Unfamiliar weapons, formations, and opponents became variations on problems encountered countless times before.

A Myrmidon learns through violence. Every exchange reveals the reach of a weapon, the balance behind a stance, or the hesitation before a feint. An attack that succeeds once becomes less reliable when repeated. Openings close, unfamiliar techniques lose their surprise, and the Myrmidon steadily settles into an opponent's rhythm until it seems to answer movements almost as they begin. A Sekhaton field account describes one surviving a spear thrust, then catching the shaft when another attacker tried the same method and breaking his neck. The lesson demonstrated by the encounter is repeated throughout their fighting style: unfamiliar techniques are steadily stripped of surprise, and many opponents only realise what is happening when something that worked moments before is turned back against them.
