The Lore

The Vaalakeri belong to the wide, unforgiving reaches of Akhaemia, where survival demands movement, vigilance, and a bond with the desert stronger than any settled law. They are known as the Sand Whisperers, sky-borne nomads who ride the mighty Haast birds across the burning expanse, appearing suddenly and vanishing just as quickly. To outsiders, they are difficult to read and harder still to bind, for their allegiance is said to shift with the desert itself. That makes them feel both at home and half-mythic within Doaden: wandering figures of heat, distance and flux, carrying the fierce freedom of Akhaemia wherever their shadows pass.
