LORE & BACKGROUND

The Scythrian Highguard once served as the last line between the sacred and the unworthy. These elite warriors were selected not only for unmatched martial skill, but for their ironclad spiritual devotion. Clad in heavy bronze and crowned with towering conical helms, they bore immense curved shields and cruel khopesh blades, tools of protection and ritual alike.

Positioned at the temple thresholds and blood-streaked altars, they watched impassively as sacrifice unfolded, both willing and otherwise. Their presence was meant to inspire awe and fear; when that failed, they enforced submission without question. Theirs was a silent strength, unmoved by pleading or rebellion.

Even in death, they have not abandoned this sacred charge. Stirred by divine blood, they rise again, undead wardens driven not by command, but by solemn oath. Their shields form an unbreakable wall, their blades strike with the finality of judgment. Relentless, patient, unyielding, they stand once more between sanctity and defiance.
