LORE & BACKGROUND

The Dark Elves of Velas-Tharenn were once called the Enduring, but the Cataclysm left them barren, their line withering. In desperation they turned to the Fleshsmith, who preserved them with sutures and grafts but could not restore life. Now they linger in twilight halls, markets half-empty, dueling rings echoing with silence. Some bear subtle marks of alteration, bone ridged like armor or fingers shaped to blades, their scars worn proudly as heraldry. They live surrounded by memory, their dignity preserved through ceremony even as their numbers dwindle.

To be a Dark Elf now is to inherit both glory and mourning, a people fading but unwilling to vanish.
