It’s that time again to lift the veil on some of the models coming to you in next month’s subscription and this time, we’re diving deep beneath the sands to unveil a piece of history hidden away for aeons… until now.

September brings an interesting development to our previous Sekhaton releases as we turn our attention to the beings they revere as their ancient Ancestors: the Progenitors.

Dragged from the tar pits of the Southlands by Sekhaton Necromancers, these remnants of a civilisation long since swallowed by time are beginning to walk the world again. Naturally, they have opinions about what everyone has done with the place in their absence.

For now, here are three of the new miniatures heading your way next month.

First up is the Progenitor Pursuer, part of a wildly varied caste bred to chase down whatever happened to be fast, troublesome or foolish enough to run from them.

Their forms adapted depending on terrain and quarry, but the objective remained refreshingly simple: go catch it. This particular specimen certainly looks equipped for the job.

Next is the Progenitor Myrmidon, an ancient warrior with (quite literally) generations of combat experience behind it.

Myrmidons learn as they fight, picking apart tactics and adapting to their opponents as the battle unfolds. So if something works, congratulations. You probably only get to do it once.

Finally, the Progenitor Sovereign.

Sovereigns once stood at the top of Progenitor society and awakening several aeons later has done remarkably little for their sense of entitlement. Proud, imposing and armed with both inherited experience and invisible force, they have returned to a world they still seem to regard as theirs.

The Pursuer, Myrmidon and Sovereign are just our first peek at where this story is heading next. There are more Ancestors still waiting beneath the surface and September’s release has plenty more to uncover, including a standalone lore book digging into their long-buried history and one particularly eccentric piece of terrain to go with them.

We’ll be showing you the rest very soon.

Cheers,

The Bestiarum Crew
