BACKGROUND

The Oubliette is amongst the most elusive figures associated with the Tormentor Cults. Unlike many Harbingers, he commands no great congregation, governs no territory and delivers no grand sermons. Instead, he drifts through the world like a shadow, appearing only briefly before vanishing once more.

Little is known of the man he once was. Stories claim he was once a thief, a spy, an assassin or even a servant of the Empire itself. The truth has long since become impossible to separate from myth.

Today he is rarely seen without the iron gibbet that encases his body. Part prison, part armour and part devotional relic, the structure confines him within a cage of rusted bars whilst leaving his limbs free to move with startling grace.

The Oubliette rarely speaks. Instead, his followers study his actions, observing the targets he chooses, the secrets he steals and the clues he leaves behind. His passing is marked by disappearances, thefts, assassinations and acts of sabotage. Wherever he travels, cults inevitably emerge in his wake, attempting to imitate the methods of a figure they scarcely understand.
