Mortifera Flesh Spores | Mycena Mortifera

LORE & BACKGROUND

Disgusting and terrifying, the skittering flesh spores are animate vectors of the Mycena Mortifera’s contagion. These grotesque remnants of thrall matter, spines, hands, mouths, break off from their hosts and are driven by predatory hunger and primal instinct, seeking new bodies to infect with the Mortifera fungus.

Unlike the clouds of spores released by the Mycena’s other hosts, which rely on the whims of the wind, these flesh spores actively pursue new victims. Scrabbling with unsettling speed, they hunt down warm flesh and hurl themselves upon it, forcing great gobbets of wet spore matter down the gullets of their prey. No matter where one hides, these relentless spores will seek their victims out.
