BACKGROUND

At the pinnacle of the Tormentor Cults’ atrocities stand the Hecatombs, vast and sacred pools of blood gathered from countless victims over months or even years of methodically inflicted suffering. Each Hecatomb is less a mere basin than a living shrine, a depthless reservoir fed by cruelty, ritual and death. Its viscous, dark liquid stirs without wind, swells without touch and seems to breathe beneath the surface. Whispers of endless suffering curl upward from within, promising agony and revelation in equal measure to those who linger at its edge.

Around a Hecatomb, reality buckles under the weight of devotion and murder. Chains rattle beneath the surface, unseen things press against the world’s skin and every hymn sung beside the pool draws the Jailer closer. From these Hecatombs, when the proper rites are performed, the Jailer and its greater kin may rise.
