LORE & BACKGROUND

Rare beasts in these tarnished days, the remaining dragons of Doaden have sequestered themselves far from the prying curiosities of the lesser races. They dwell upon mountain peaks, isolated islands, or, in this case, deep below the earth.

Its true name has been lost to the ages, but this dragon is as much a slave to the Mycena Mortifera as any pitiful human thrall. Whether the spores infiltrated its nostrils and tender tissues while it slept or whether its binding was the product of some titanic subterranean struggle remains unclear. What is certain, however, is that this beast serves as a formidable manifestation of the fungus’s alien will, spine chilling evidence of the immense threat posed by the infection.
