Our Monthly Painting Competition returned once again this month, this time for our latest expansion to the Lost Continent, the Brood of the Toadmother. As always, the challenge was simple: paint something from the newest release within the first three weeks of the month and send it in on our community Discord server. You all delivered with a great bunch of swampy, froggy, mud-covered entries crawling out of the blackwater.

Once submissions closed, the community voted for their three favourites. From those picks, the Bestiarum Team chose this month’s winner. Below are the community favourites, our team pick, and all the other brilliant entries we received this month.

Big thanks to everyone who joined in, the Anurans have never looked better.

Competition Results

Community Vote Winners

These entries were voted as this month's top 3 by the members of our community Discord server - congratulations!

Entry #1 - "What's the story morning glory?" by Sir_Brude

Our first community winner is once again "Sir_Brude" with this lovely painted scene of the Anuran Shaman, surrounded by Anuran Totems and a lone Anuran Tadpole. Featuring bold tribal colours and a resin-poured puddle, this piece really pops while remaining true to its theme.

Entry #2 - "Say flies" by stephenas1

The second winner of our community vote is "stephenas1" with another beautifully painted model. As we've come to expect from him, this rendition of the Anuran Shaman features a range of different paints and materials which result in a lovely piece with lots of texture and contrast which manages to use bright colours while staying true to a darker mood.

Entry #3 - "Hungry hungry frogs" by redsme

Our final winner of the month is "redsme" who painted nearly the entire lineup of anurans from this release! This entry features the Anuran Tadpoles, Anuran Hunters, Anuran Warriors and Anuran Shaman, all painted in a nice coherent style and posed on separate bases against a lovely scenic backdrop. Nice work!

Bestiarum Vote - April 2026 Winner

This month, the Bestiarum Team picked "Sir_Brude" as their winner of the Monthly Painting Competition!

The team was a big fan of this beautifully composed piece as it shows the Anuran Shaman in his natural swampy environment, surrounded by totems and effigies, and really highlights the essence of the release. Wonderful job!

Another big congratulations from us to all top 3 participants!

Our competition winner will receive a digital miniature release of choice and an honorary title on the server with the runners-up receiving a digital product of choice as well.

Monthly Highlight

We'd like to take the time to shout out one more entry which grabbed our attention!

"Frog Mother and little Frogbert" by Faunus

This entry by "Faunus" not only features two nicely painted toads (Tepozotli, Matron of the Mirewoods & Anuran Tadpole), but it also features an adorable real life relative (Ceratophrys sp.) who seems quite concerned about the whole ordeal. This one gave us a good chuckle so we had to include it here!

Frogs funny entry

A big thanks to all of our participants in this month's competition - it was a joy to see everyone come together, share their progress and paint these models according to their personal vision. We hope to see you all compete again next month!
