Anatomist Acolyte | The Anatomists

LORE & BACKGROUND

The path of the Anatomist Acolyte begins not with oath or ceremony, but with incision. Whether drawn by delusion, desperation, or divine visions of living flesh, each Acolyte is initiated in blood. They are not students, they are subjects, shaped by the same craft they seek to master.

Their learning is cruel and constant. There are no lessons, only suffering. They assist in surgeries beyond understanding, endure the same procedures they one day hope to perform, and survive the trials that end most others. The screams in the halls are their lectures. The scars, their syllabus.

Assigned to the lowest tasks such as tending the Harrowborn, dragging remains or scrubbing gore-slick slabs, Acolytes still serve with reverence. To exist near the craft is to be changed by it. They do not seek mastery, only proximity, and in time, perhaps, transformation.

Those who endure will become more than servants. They will become practitioners. For now, they listen, they bleed, and they obey.
