The Bastard Whelps | Calden Keep

LORE & BACKGROUND

Ser Rauk was the elder of Lord Aethelric’s bastard sons, a towering wall of iron and unrelenting rage. Before the fall of Calden, he led hunts and raids with savage glee, his greataxe cleaving rebel and peasant alike. While others fought with strategy, Rauk fought with brute force, trusting his armor and fury to break any line.

In the siege’s final days, he stood unshaken at Calden’s outer walls, limbs slick with blood, eyes alight with the thrill of slaughter. He died roaring, surrounded by corpses, unbowed even as fire and stone brought the fortress low.

The curse has made him more than man. Rauk now rises as a mastiff-shaped monstrosity, his swollen frame clad in battered war-plate. His axe, once merely brutal, now cracks stone and bone alike with every blow. His movements are heavy, deliberate, impossible to ignore, designed to draw the enemy’s gaze and absorb their wrath. Though he no longer speaks, his snarls and the thunder of his steps echo with purpose.

Even alone, Ser Rauk is a force of destruction. His loyalty to his twisted lineage is undiminished, and his fury remains as boundless as ever.
