Background

Few Children of Baphomet are spoken of with greater dread than Psoglav. Its body is a writhing mass of twisted limbs, cloven hooves and grasping jaws, grown without reason or design around an appetite that never ends. It is said to have begun as the stunted runt of its litter. While its siblings fought for their mother's favour, Psoglav cared only to feed. It devoured them one by one, then turned upon the forest when none remained. Livestock, grain stores, hunting dogs, travellers and even the dead beneath the earth vanished into its maw. With every feast its limbs thickened, its mouth widened and fresh horns tore through quivering flesh. Before long it towered over the Sirelings that had once cast it aside, and they too were consumed. Foresters remember the lesson of its tale: hunger left unchecked may grow beyond the power of any hunter, wall or prayer to contain.
