Crimson Grove Pilgrims | Crimson Grove Abbey

LORE & BACKGROUND

The lowest among the congregation, Grove Pilgrims bound and caper in ragged robes, their bodies swollen and misshapen, warped by repeated indulgence in the Crimson Fruit. Tumorous growths bulge beneath their tattered cloth, their flesh soft and yielding, taking on the same grotesque shapes as the sacred bounty they worship. Their minds, too, are softened, stripped of doubt, filled only with praise and adulation for the fruit’s bounteous generosity.

To the Pilgrims, the Crimson Grove is paradise made manifest, its bounty a tangible proof of divinity. They journey tirelessly, spreading their faith to the hungry and desperate, bearing baskets overflowing with glistening, red fruit. Those who accept their gifts are welcomed as kindred spirits, fellow seekers of enlightenment through indulgence. But those who refuse, those who deny the fruit’s blessing, are blind, lost, in need of guidance. With chants of joyous devotion, the Pilgrims will see to their correction, whether through gentle persuasion or the crushing weight of their swollen fists and crude weapons.
