Background

Baphomet's most numerous offspring are malformed creatures born from her endless fecundity. No two share the same shape. Some have limbs too long, horns that twist without symmetry or bodies joined in impossible ways. Though individually weak, they gather in packs and attack with cruel patience. They burst from treelines to seize isolated travellers, raid livestock and spoil what they cannot eat. Their instinctive cunning makes them dangerous, especially when guided by stronger kin. A lone creature is a wretched scavenger. A swarm becomes a rising tide of teeth, hooves and malformed flesh. Their restless hunger reflects the Beast Mother's own refusal of restraint, with each birth adding another predator to the deep woods and another reason for rural communities to fear the dark beyond the road.
