LORE & BACKGROUND

Silent and still, the Balefire Gargoyle waits atop mausoleums or beside corroded gates, mistaken for a statue until it moves. Forged from cold iron and shaped with grotesque anatomy, this towering construct houses a core of soulflame packed with charnel remains: bone shards, twisted limbs, and necrotic flesh.

From vents in its ribs and throat, cold fire spills, licking across the iron haft of its staff. The brazier it bears casts unnatural light, a lure for both the dead and the living. They come without knowing why. They should not.

When the Gargoyle stirs, it does so with terrifying grace. Rusted wings unfurl, shrieking as the construct drops from its perch in a storm of soulflame and iron. Its screech echoes through fog and ruin, a brutal herald of what follows.

It is more than a guardian. It is a warning made manifest, etched in rust, flame, and silence.
