North of the Azerai Empire, beyond Sturmenburg and the dense pine forests, lies the frozen and bitter land of Thule—a harsh realm that breeds even harsher people. Shrouded in ice and snow, Thule's history is one of constant struggle. Centuries ago, these lands were said to be somewhat less inclimate, but the great Cataclysm plunged Thule into eternal winter, shaping its people into resilient survivors.
In this icy expanse, every day is a battle, whether against beasts, rivals, or the relentless elements. Jagged mountains and frozen rivers dominate the landscape, while blizzards and biting winds test the endurance of even the hardiest souls. Thule yields nothing willingly and respects only the strong.

The folk of Thule mirror the brutality of their homeland. Towering and imbued with a warrior spirit, they uphold a combative culture where strength and honour are paramount. Unlike the people of the Empire, they do not reside in large cities, for the frozen soil and unrelenting weather make sustaining such settlements nigh on impossible. Instead, the people of Thule form tight-knit groups known as Warclans.
Warclans are small, rarely numbering more than fifty members, and are predominantly nomadic, migrating across their icy domain for food, supplies, or sacred ritual. These clans are bound by intricate traditions and a deep sense of loyalty. Elders pass down tales of great heroes and legendary battles, fostering a shared identity cold-cast in valour and endurance.

Though Thule and its people differ greatly from the Azerai, they share at least one common goal, to forestall the ever-expanding corruption that seeps from the Ashen Wastes.
In the southeast of Thule, a jagged mountain range forms a natural barrier against the blighted wastes, shielding the land from the worst of the Cataclysm's twisted creations. The full might of the Eternal Legions cannot penetrate these defenses, and the mountains, coupled with Thule's fierce winds, push back much of the arcane corruption. Yet, despite these natural defenses, foulness still seeks to infiltrate the great northern kingdom. Twisted beasts, vile sorcerers, and demonic entities prowl the dark canyons under the peaks, searching for a way into Thule. They would do so unchallenged if not for the relentless vigilance of the Warclans.
