The Herald of Agony is amongst the most revered figures found within the Tormentor Cults. Once a gifted preacher, the Herald has become a living expression of the congregation's beliefs, transforming his own body into a monument to suffering, sacrifice and revelation.

To the faithful, the Herald is proof that devotion brings one closer to the truths hidden within pain. His body is adorned with the evidence of countless rituals, while the remains of other supplicants are incorporated into elaborate displays of worship and penitence. Every scar, wound and mutilation serves a symbolic purpose known only to the congregation that venerates him.

Despite his horrific appearance, the Herald doesn’t present himself as a monster. He speaks with calm conviction, welcomes strangers with open arms and deliver sermons filled with compassion, understanding and promises of enlightenment. Only gradually does the listener realise the terrible conclusions that lie beneath his teachings.

Wherever the Herald settles, a congregation inevitably forms around him. The suffering, desperate and disillusioned gather to hear his revelations while cultists regard his presence as a sign of divine favour. Through ritual, sacrifice and unshakable faith, the Herald deepens manifestations and carries his beliefs into the heart of entire communities. In time, he could become the central figure of a greater ceremony or revelation, drawing scattered cults together into the shape of an organized faith.
