BACKGROUND

Alberix is ancient even by the standards of his long-lived kindred, his second birth lying centuries, perhaps millennia, in the past. His black eyes have witnessed the Old Empire at both its zenith and its fall. Bearing a terrifying and majestic form granted by the Blood, the last remnants of his humanity have long since departed.

He is now a creature of the absolute night, a predator in every sense. Yet Alberix is no reckless beast. His hunger is tempered by labyrinthine intellect, patience, and self-control, allowing him to survive far longer than many of his kin. From his dark lair in the Eastern Diocese, he has mastered the intrigues of the Abhorrent Courts and become a leading voice against Lord Nachzehrer’s strange alchemies.
