In the cluttered halls of an abandoned laboratory lies the haunting legacy of an engineer consumed by a singular obsession – the elusive quest to spark life from lifelessness. To create Immaculate beings, bereft of the innate corruption that suffuses the natural-born inhabitants of Doaden.

Though the enigmatic master has long vanished, the laboratory hums with eerie industry, its machinery humming and clattering with otherworldly activity. Strange artisanal contraptions wander the corridors, their movements purposeful and relentless, devoted to intricate tasks known only to them.

Guardians of the Great Work stand sentinel throughout the halls, intricate and lithe automata armed with lethal blades and unmatched agility, poised to thwart any who dare to venture deeper into their lost Master’s sanctum. Each guardian is adorned with intricate gilt ornamentation, as if to obscure their terrible capacity for violence.

Occasionally, the Spires of Allstein expel one of their wayward offspring, casting them down to the lands below. These Exiles can bring with them either wondrous or dire technological advancements for the folk of Doaden. Xephan Durand, a renowned Engineer of Azerai and the mastermind behind the formidable battle-wagon bearing his name, was one such Exile. Swiftly conscripted into the service of the Church following his expulsion, he exemplifies the fate of those who find new masters in their exile.

However, not all are as ready to embrace new patrons. Who can fathom how many embittered children of the mighty skybound city dwell amidst the lands below, and what havoc their strange talents might wreak?
