LORE & BACKGROUND

All manner of creatures prowl the Ashen Wastes, some warped by prolonged exposure, others seemingly redesigned by the land’s own unthinking will. The Wastes Scavengers belong to the latter. Vast, crawling horrors forged from a grotesque fusion of human remains and something far less discernible.

Limbs, torsos, and eyeless skulls are folded into a single, lurching anatomy, part carrion bird, part scavenger hound, bound by sinew and spite. They drag their twisted bulk across ossified ruins and necrotic growths, picking through the remains of forgotten grandeur.

Their purpose remains unclear. Some believe they are drawn to places where the Wastes' shifting geometry has ruptured the land, sniffing out patterns beyond mortal comprehension. Others claim they are puppets of instinct, haunted by fractured memories of lives once sewn into their collective meat.

Whatever the truth, they do not rest. Wherever the corruption spreads, these horrors follow, ceaselessly scavenging the detritus of a dying world.
