LORE & BACKGROUND

Among the Grenadiers of the Alchemic Order, Eccodis is unique. Known as the Sealed Vessel, he has taken the volatile burden of alchemical combustion not upon his back, but into his very body. Where others carry pressure-spheres and external cauldrons, Eccodis bears none. His internal organs were removed through radical surgery, replaced with a living crucible composed of vat-grown tissue and cartilage-reinforced haemonculid baffles. The reaction churns inside him, constant and unstable.

His right arm is no longer human. Fused entirely with bronze, bone, and inflamed tissue, it functions as an alchemic cannon. Tubes pulse and knot around the limb, guiding the bilefire and emulsions that erupt from its vent-lined maw. Each blast distends his gut, a visible reminder that every shot is fired at personal cost.

His robes cling tightly to his massive form, a figure pressed inward by pressure and heat. Eccodis speaks little. His breath rasps with acid and strain. He is not unfeeling, but distant, as if the crucible within has sealed away part of what he once was.

Among the Order, he is seen with equal parts reverence and dread. His transformation was not necessarily a step forward. It was a decision made for reasons no one else can understand.
