The Lore

Descending from the heavenly void came the Seraphim, boundless beings of alien radiance, driven by a purpose beyond mortal understanding. Their arrival was an event of impossible splendor, their forms so luminous and vast that mortal minds could scarcely endure the sight. To behold them is to stand at the edge of madness, and many who witness their descent are forever changed.

They first appeared in the strange aftermath of the Cataclysm, their presence felt most keenly in the arid deserts of Akhaemia, especially near the shadowed mountains that border the Ashen Wastes. Why they are drawn to this region remains unknown, yet they have made their dwelling within colossal Templums that rise from the sands, monuments older than memory itself. The greatest among them, a pantheon of entities including the so-named Yesod, Tipheret and others yet unknown, remain in solemn repose, suspended in endless meditation. Whatever truths they contemplate are beyond mortal comprehension.

In their silence, they have inspired a new faith. The desperate and the devout alike flock to the Templums, proclaiming the Seraphim as incarnations of Divine Will. The Azerai Creed denounces this belief as heresy, declaring the Seraphim to be Demons no different from Balazar or the Jailer. Yet their followers persist, zealous, ecstatic, and transformed by the alien wisdom imparted through dream and revelation. These Seraphic Cults serve their masters without question, maintaining eternal vigil in the burning sands, awaiting a command that may never come.
