Carved from volcanic stone and etched with forgotten rites, the Scythrian Sarcophagi are sacred relics of a vanished kingdom. Each tomb contains a shriveled corpse, sealed in reverence after a ritual sacrifice that marked the final devotion of Scythria’s faithful. To die naturally was considered heresy; the devout chose ritual death, their lifeblood gifted to the Sovereign in hope of his return.

These sarcophagi, often buried deep within forgotten tombs or scattered among the dust-choked necropoli of Doaden, bear stone faces carved in the likeness of the interred. The exalted were preserved whole within, while lesser devotees met dismemberment, their parts sealed in canopic vessels. Regardless of status, all were prepared with divine care, locked in time by the absence of blood, their remains immune to rot.

Now, as ancient channels stir and divine essence courses once more through sacred cisterns, some of these sealed relics no longer rest easy. The compact was not forgotten, and the dead remember.
