BACKGROUND

Bastions were bred for places where survival and overwhelming force decided the outcome of battle. Their immense bodies combine dense bone, powerful musculature, and thick resilient tissue into a frame capable of absorbing extraordinary punishment while continuing to advance. Every part of their anatomy contributes to stability, endurance, and the delivery of crushing physical force.

Their enlarged cranial structures provide redundant neural storage while generating dense, invisible waves of force. These can blunt incoming blows or be discharged in violent bursts capable of breaking packed enemy ranks. Beneath this, layered motor patterns, conditioned responses, and reflexive control allow a Bastion to keep moving when pain, shock, or damage would leave another creature disoriented or helpless. In war they served as living strongpoints, holding passages, forcing breaches, and advancing beneath attacks that would stop almost anything else. A Bastion may continue fighting with broken weapons buried in its flesh until the obstacle gives way or the body finally does.
