LORE & BACKGROUND

Once the leader of the Band of the Grail, Aldus swore himself to a sacred quest to recover a relic of the Sainted Patriarch. He and his companions followed that trail to the Monastery of the Pious Order of Brother Marriot, a place long abandoned and swallowed by silence. Only Aldus emerged. Whatever he witnessed there shattered both his fellowship and his faith, and he refused to speak of it thereafter.

In time he encountered the necromancer Murde, and together they returned to the ruined monastery. No Grail was found, but Aldus’ fallen companions were raised again through necromantic art. Thus the Band of the Grail ended, and the Dead Men began.

Now Aldus walks in blackened plate, his armour maintained with grim discipline, bearing the Grail sigil not as a sign of devotion but as a reminder of what was lost. Though his faith is gone, his purpose remains. He does not lead his dead companions into cruelty for its own sake, but imposes necessity where he can upon a world that offers little mercy in return.
