LORE & BACKGROUND

Sculpted in the flesh-foundries of Aurum Absolutum, the Haemonculid Sphinx is a rare masterwork of the Alchemic Order. These living constructs are not grown like common haemonculi, but shaped with exquisite intention. Each tendon, ligament, and sinew is refined in ceremonial detail, resulting in a creature that moves with elegance and strikes with deadly precision.

Their silhouette resembles the great cats of Akhaemia’s sun-baked borders, but the Sphinx is no beast. Beneath its lacquered hide lies a lattice of alchemic elementa, copper-veined and sigil-bound, granting it unnatural swiftness and control. Unlike its brutish kin bred for labor, the Sphinx is a guardian, a killer, and a symbol of artistic power.

Each is unique, tailored to its creator’s vision, and fiercely coveted by those within the Order. To command a Sphinx is to hold status. In the radiant courts of Aurum, ownership marks not only strength, but taste.

When called to battle, the Sphinx does not roar. It flows. Silent and exacting, it delivers death in singular strokes. Few ever see it strike more than once.
