Some say he was the Prison Lord’s first adherent, far away and long ago at the height of the Old Empire’s power. Some attendant or Vizier, possessed of a scheming nature and lust for control which soon descended into obsession; it was this that brought him under the Prison Lord’s dark influence. Though his name has faded into obscurity, the legend of the Snatcherlord persists in folktales passed down through generations—a cautionary tale warning against the perils of greed and the futility of trying to control a world indifferent to the desires of mortals.
Far more than a mere bedtime story to frighten children, the Snatcherlord is chief among the Prison Lord’s emissaries to the Tormentor Cults of Doaden. Swollen with dark energies, the entity towers many times over a mortal human, its sinewy limbs pulsating with formidable strength. While the Snatcherlord prefers to wield its influence from the shadows, orchestrating legions of devotees into battle, it is a formidable adversary when provoked, capable of leaping great distances and striking with swift and lethal precision using its cruel whip and sceptre.
Through its ties to Doaden, and perhaps through other, more arcane means now lost to memory in the aftermath of the Cataclysm, the Snatcherlord manifests itself more readily than other Ascendant beings. Over the centuries since the Cataclysm, the Snatcherlord has asserted its dominion over numerous Cults, ruling directly over them for decades and inflicting unspeakable horrors upon Doaden, ensuring that its name echoes throughout the realm in dread.
