Alberix is an immense being, truly ancient even by the standards of his long-lived kindred. His second birth occurred centuries, if not millennia, ago, and his black eyes have witnessed the Old Empire at both its zenith and nadir.
Bearing a terrifying and majestic form granted to him by the Blood, what little that tied Alberix to his humanity has long departed. He is now a creature of the absolute night, a predator in absolute. Yet his instinctive hunger is tempered by a labyrinthine intellect and self-control, allowing him to survive far longer than most of his kin.
Despite his fearsome nature, Alberix adheres to a strict philosophy of self-discipline. He believes that true power lies not in brute strength, but in the ability to control and manipulate from the shadows. To him, the mind is the greatest weapon, and patience is the greatest virtue his immortal kind possesses. This belief has kept him from the reckless pursuits of his kin, enabling him to amass a power that is both subtle and profound.
From his dark lair in the Eastern Diocese, Alberix has mastered the games of intrigue and underhandedness that plague the Abhorrent Courts. He has been a leading voice of opposition to the upstart Lord Nachzehrer, arguing that Nachzehrer’s strange alchemies would forever stain their precious gift. Alberix maintains that they need only hold out and await the dissipation of the Cataclysm’s corrupting energies.
