Once a herbalist or hedge-sorceress, rumours tell of a woman who journeyed across the Empire, seeking rare herbs and roots to expand her knowledge of the botanical mysteries. Her trail was lost in a now-ruined hamlet in the southwest, where, it is said, she ventured into a cave that descended deep into the earth.
What she found therein was, of course, the Mycena Mortifera, and what none but her know, is that she quickly saw the fungus for the wondrous thing that it was, and willingly took the spores within herself.
Seemingly aware of her distinction from its usual thralls, the Mycena appears to have granted her a measure of free will. Now, the Sporecaller serves as an emissary for the fungal entity. What the Mycena Mortifera seeks to achieve through diplomacy, however, remains a chilling mystery…
