October’s release comes with snow on the ground, gifts on the tree and absolutely no respect for the calendar.
Yes, we’re doing Christmas in October. In our defence, if your festive decorations are capable of wandering off after dark, it pays to put them out early.
This month we’re heading north for The Winter Debt — a collection steeped in midwinter traditions, old superstitions and the things they may have been keeping at bay. Snowmen wander after dark, ancient house spirits settle beside the hearth, offerings hang from frozen trees and even the timber seems determined to go home. It’s our own particularly grim take on the festive season: warmth inside, something waiting outside, and a long list of rules nobody remembers inventing but everyone still follows. Let’s take a look.
Miniatures Collection - The Winter Debt
We’ve really leaned into the unsettling side of midwinter folklore with The Winter Debt. Every creature in the release takes something familiar about the season, from children’s games and household customs to hospitality, feasting and winter harvests, and drags it somewhere far less comforting. Traditions become warnings, decorations become offerings, and the things waiting outside the firelight are only too happy to remind people why the old rules existed in the first place.
Alongside the miniatures is a brand-new terrain and scatter set exploring the rituals and festivities of the Winter Debt. The Tithe Tree shows the darker end of those customs, its branches crowded with offerings ranging from simple possessions to severed heads and whole bodies, while the Banquet Feast leans into the warmth and excess of a proper midwinter celebration, with laden tables, drink, and one particularly questionable head served up among the courses.
Faction Pack: The Winter Debt
Alongside the collection comes The Winter Debt Faction Pack, diving deeper into the customs, creatures and lingering obligations that shape the season.
Across the northern settlements, people leave food by the hearth, hang offerings from trees and follow rules whose origins have long since been forgotten. Some are superstition. Some are practical traditions dressed up as superstition. A few are probably the reason everyone is still alive.
The pack expands on the creatures from this month’s release, with 5.5E statblocks, new lore, narrative art and a selection of adventure hooks built around disappearing offerings, wandering effigies, hostile forests and communities where nobody is entirely sure which old warning is nonsense until somebody ignores it.

Printed & Painted
As part of our revamp of the Monthly Painting Competitions, we invited Veteran League winner Minty to paint the Lord of the House ahead of its official release and showcase the finished model in this post. They ended up creating a diorama including this model which shows us a peek behind the scenes of what happens in the forest when the party is off adventuring elsewhere, a very original take on the model!
