Painting Competition | Winner Announcement | Church of the Acarid | September 2025

For those of you who haven't heard: Since this month, we are running a Monthly Painting Competition on our Discord server!
Every month, members of the server can submit their entry featuring at least one of that month's newly released models. After the deadline ends, the community gets to vote on their top 3 from which the Bestiarum Team then selects their official winner.
In this post, we showcase the winners of this month's community vote and announce the official winner of the competition!

These entries were voted as this month's top 3 by the members of our community Discord server - congratulations!
Entry #1 - "Acarid Nest"
This atmospheric diorama piece was painted by our community member "----]==boredasf*cked==>". They combined the newly released Acarid Altar terrain pieces with an entire swarm of Acarid Parasites, using a decapitated Dread Necromancer from our Deadmire collection to top off the piece.
Entry #2 - Infested Giant
Our second winner of the community vote is this rendition of this month's Infested Giant model by "mcfranklin"! They combined some excellent flesh tones and gore effects with some hauntingly glowing eyes for this excellent result.
Entry #3 - Infested Giant
The third winner of this month's community vote is another awesome rendition of the Infested Giant, this time by stephenas1. They went for a very different vibe, Combining colder tones to create a more undead effect with red-glowing eyes instead.
Bestiarum Vote - September 2025 Winner
After deliberation within the team and judging all pieces by creativity and execution, the Bestiarum Team has decided to follow the community vote and has picked "----]==boredasf*cked==>" as the winner of our first Monthly Painting Competition! We especially appreciated the ambitious scale of the project, the uniqueness of the piece and the atmosphere it conveyed.
It was lots of fun seeing the piece progress from humble beginnings to its final form as the month progressed!
Another big congratulations from us to all top 3 participants! All of these pieces were executed in unique ways and brought something special to the table.
Our competition winner will receive a digital miniature release of choice and an honorary title on the server with the runners-up receiving a digital product of choice as well.
Monthly Highlights
We'd like to take the time to highlight some other projects this month which grabbed our attention!
Diorama by Richard T73
This chaotic diorama featuring a multitude of Acarid Parasites certainly draws the attention! The townsfolk fleeing from the parasites remind us of a medieval artwork. Excellent job Richard!
Infested Wolf by Saranya
This rendition of our Infested Wolf model was created with a unique colour scheme and excellent execution. While it barely didn't make it in our top 3, this piece definitely stood out!
Diorama with Terrain by Pineapple
This impressive diorama was created using this month's (nearly entire) Acarid Altar terrain set, as well as featuring multiple miniatures from the set such as the Infested Knights and the Infested Abbot, AND some innocent victims from our other releases on top - very impressive!
Announcement: Deadline Change
By popular demand from our subscribers, we are extending the deadline of our monthly competitions from next month onwards. The final deadline for all submissions will be moved to the 21nd of the month at 23:59 CET. This should give everyone some extra time to finish up their entries.
A big thanks to all of our participants in this month's competition - it was a joy to see everyone come together, share their progress and paint these models according to their personal vision. We hope to see you all compete again next month!
