This May, our Monthly Painting Competition made its return to the community Discord with The Wanderers setting the tone for this month’s theme. Painters were asked to include at least one miniature from the newest release, and they came back from the roads of Doaden with a brilliant range of entries.
After submissions closed, the community cast their votes for their three favourite pieces. The Bestiarum Team then reviewed those finalists and chose this month’s official winner.
Below, you’ll find the community’s top picks, our team’s chosen winner, and the rest of the fantastic entries submitted for May’s competition.

These entries were voted as this month's top 3 by the members of our community Discord server - congratulations!
Entry #1 - "Sancho I see Windmills" by stephenas1
As this month's entry, "stephenas1" is back again with a lovely grim version of our heroic Ser Hadric, the Hedge Knight, together with his trusty companion Ingo, the Squire. Using a muted palette of colours with different paints as we've come to expect from his entries and with a beautiful custom base, this piece does an excellent job at bringing these pompous characters into the realm of the grimdark style.
Entry #2 - "What's behind door number one?" by Sir_Brude
Secondly we have our returning winner "Sir_Brude" with another beautiful creation featuring Necromancer Murde. This entry was painted using only acrylics and features some beautiful OSL, a lovely custom base and some excellent, moody painting.
Entry #3 - "Glory?" by TheUrizen
Finally, we have a mini-diorama from "TheUrizen" with what appear to be removable models of Oathbreaker Aldus, the Fallen Paladin and some of the Dead Men in a grisly scene. This entry combines a nicely painted entry with some excellent visual storytelling - good work!
Bestiarum Vote - March 2026 Winner
This month, the Bestiarum Team picked "stephenas1" as their winner of the Monthly Painting Competition!
The team really liked the grimdark take on these models, pulling them straight into the world of Doaden in a believable way without compromising anything in terms of painting quality and creativity. Congratulations!

Our competition winner will receive a digital miniature release of choice and an honorary title on the server with the runners-up receiving a digital product of choice as well.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this month’s competition. It was wonderful to see the community come together, share progress and bring these models to life through so many personal styles and interpretations.
We’re already looking forward to next month, where we’ll be shaking things up with a new Rookie and Veteran league format. It should make the competition more exciting for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or ready to push your painting even further. Full details are available now on the Discord server!
