The Monthly Painting Competition is back on our community Discord server and this month’s theme was the disturbingly radiant Echoes of the Seraphim. We asked for entries featuring at least one model from the newest release and the community certainly delivered!
As always, once submissions close, the Discord community votes for their top three favourites and from those finalists the Bestiarum Team selects the official winner.
Below you’ll find the community vote results, our team pick and the other lovely entries we received for the competition.
These entries were voted as this month's top 3 by the members of our community Discord server - congratulations!
Hot on the heels of winning last month's competition, "Sir_Brude" manages to secure another place among the winners of the community vote. In this rendition of one of the Oculus Vigilants, both oil and acrylic paints were used, creating a beautiful and moody result with excellent texture.
Our second winner of the community vote is "Rudelol" with his vibrant rendition of the Seraphic Guardian. This piece features not only bold colours but also some beautiful soft blends using oil paints and features some excellent highlighting. Contrasting colours are highly effectifve at guiding the eye to the focal points of the model. Bravo!
Our third and final winner is our most consistent competitor to date: community favorite "stephenas1" with his rendition of the Seraphic Guardian. This piece is an amazing blend of painting and other techniques, using materials such as "acrylics, enamels, oils, superglue and 3D resin" to create a stunning and truly gruesome result with loads of texture. This model is absolutely nightmarish in all the right ways.
This month was truly difficult in terms of picking the winner of these excellent pieces. After much deliberation, the Bestiarum Team has decided to pick "Rudelol" as the winner of our Monthly Painting Competition! The team especially appreciated the creative use of colours and the excellent highlighting used for the model.
Another big congratulations from us to all top 3 participants! All of these pieces were executed in unique ways and brought something special to the table.
Our competition winner will receive a digital miniature release of choice and an honorary title on the server with the runners-up receiving a digital product of choice as well.
A big thanks to all of our participants in this month's competition - it was a joy to see everyone come together, share their progress and paint these models according to their personal vision. We hope to see you all compete again next month!
