We’re back with another sneak peek at what’s coming to next month’s subscription and this time, the Church of Azerai has something to say...
November’s release takes us into the heart of the Azerai Empire, where the Priesthood keeps the faith alive through sermons, sacred rituals and the occasional stern reminder that nobody is above the Creed.
From humble village chapels to the grand cathedrals of the Empire, the Church has a hand in just about everything. And with November's collection, we're bringing some of that religious grandeur (and a few of its more unsettling traditions) to your tabletop.
Here are three of the new additions joining the congregation next month.
First up is the Choir, because no religious procession is complete without a suitably ominous soundtrack.
Made up of devoted monks and nuns, Azerian choirs carry the hymns and litanies of the Creed across the Empire. Their voices unite in worship, each singer becoming part of something greater than themselves. It's a rather beautiful sentiment, although hearing the same solemn chanting echoing through an otherwise deserted monastery might be a little less comforting.
Next, we have the Azerian Bishop, a senior figure of the Azerian Priesthood and someone you probably don't want to find waiting on your doorstep.
Bishops wield considerable authority throughout the Empire, overseeing everything from religious doctrine and local clergy to tithes and political disputes. Even powerful rulers are expected to heed their counsel, and a single letter bearing a Bishop's seal can carry consequences far beyond the cathedral walls. Turns out you don't need a sword to make people nervous.
And finally, we have our Church Pulpit, a brand new terrain piece to bring a little Azerian authority to your tabletop.
From this elevated platform, the clergy deliver their sermons, guiding the faithful through the teachings of the Creed and reminding them of their duties to the Church. Whether you're building a grand cathedral or a humble village chapel, it's a fitting addition to any sacred space. And, perhaps most importantly, it should help give our rather vertically challenged Bishop the stature his position deserves.
These models are just a first glimpse of what's coming with November's Priesthood release. There's plenty more to discover within the Azerai Church, from the everyday faithful to some of the stranger things lurking beneath its sacred robes.
We'll be revealing the rest soon!
Cheers,
The Bestiarum Crew
