Looking Back & A Glimpse Ahead

Hi folks!

As the year comes to a close and the team is taking a bit of well-earned time off with our families, we felt it was the perfect moment to look back on what this year has brought us. Plus, some very early peeks at what’s lurking just beyond the horizon...

2025 has been a big year for expanding Doaden's existing factions. We saw some fantastic continuations across the range. Starting with the Frankenstein-esque Fleshcrafter’s Laboratory in January, featuring Allstein’s horrifying creation, Fleshfang. March brought the long-awaited continuation of Calden Keep in May. July expanded upon the N’Gorroth, August gave the Court of Balazar a full model range makeover, and plenty more releases helped round out a wide variety of rosters throughout the year.

And that was not all! 2025 also introduced several brand-new factions to the world of Doaden. From the Spiral Dharam, to the abominations of the Ashen Wastes. From the Anatomists and their brutal craft, to the whispering dead of the Graves of the Lost, each of these newcomers have carved out an interesting new niche in this ever-decaying world.

On a team level, this year has been a meaningful one for us as well. After weathering the much-needed changes to our subscription model in the second half of the year, we were finally able to breathe. This space allowed us to give even more care and attention to each release, while also engaging far more closely with all of you wonderful folks. Thank you so much for bearing with us during that time of flux.

The team is feeling fresher and more motivated than ever to flex our grimdark sensibilities. We've also been putting serious effort into building and detailing the lore of Doaden (more on this next year!), and we were able to organize regular community events too, including monthly painting competitions on our Discord server. If you have not joined those yet, definitely check them out!

Now for the exciting part: What's coming from the Bestiarum in the next year?

First off, we'll finally be launching the website subscription early next year! Setting this up has taken a tonne of work behind the scenes to set up - expect more news on this soon.

On top of that, there is some particularly exciting stuff brewing when it comes to our RPG content. While we are not ready to lift the curtain just yet, those of you who have fallen in love with the world of Doaden and its many tales can expect to dive into its lore like never before. We are looking toward undiscovered territories, new ways of telling our stories, and truly putting our lore on the map.

So what about releases? Most of you will no doubt have seen our January preview where we have revealed our expansion of the Church of the Acarid faction! However, it seems like some paper scraps were stuck between the pages of those drawings, and have made their way into this post...

Well what could those all be? We're looking forward to hearing your wildest guesses over in the comments.

We'd like to send a heartfelt thank you from the entire team to everyone who has supported us this year. From the veterans who have been with us since the very beginning to those who only joined us recently, your support truly means the world to us. Because of you, we get to do what we love and to keep creating something we believe is genuinely special  (in a horrible and wonderfully twisted way, of course).

We wish you all a lovely end to the year, hopefully filled with plenty of hobby time, and we are very much looking forward to what the new year will bring.
