Time for another look at what’s emerging from the Bestiarum forge and this month, we’re heading beneath the boughs of Doaden’s darkest forests.
August brings The Bleating Brood, our newest expansion to the Children of Baphomet collection - a new release steeped in tangled horns, unchecked growth and the cruel abundance of the Mother of Beasts. Where July’s beleaguered guards stood ready to defend the settlements of the realm, this set reveals one of the horrors undoubtedly waiting beyond their barricades.
This release delves deeper into Baphomet’s corrupted bloodline, unveiling more of her malformed bestial spawn and some of the most horrific and dangerous of her offspring, alongside grisly forest offerings left to honour the ever-watchful Mother of Beasts.
First up is our latest expanded roster of Bestial Byblows.
Long-time collectors may recognise these wretched little creatures from our original set of three. For August, we’re returning to the concept with an expanded brood, adding a host of new sculpts to make their packs considerably larger with designs that embrace the variety of these twisted critters. Mixed with the original trio, they should give you a suitably unruly swarm for encounters, skirmish forces or larger woodland hordes.
For our second reveal, check out the Bestial Sireling, a decidedly larger brother for the Byblows, an alpha beast of the ravenous herd. This twisted creature bears two heads, and the enigmatic third eye common to Baphomet’s dreadful lineage.
For the final reveal of this post, we are unveiling one of the most twisted and dangerous spawn of Baphomet’s brood: Psoglav, the Hungering Beast.
Psoglav is hunger given monstrous form: a hulking mass of twisted limbs, cloven hooves, curling horns and an appetite that has never known restraint. He’s a suitably horrible addition to the brood that truly embodies their ever-hungering tendencies and should make a memorable threat for anyone unlucky enough to meet him in the woods.
There are plenty more creatures packed into August’s release, including some of the Beast Mother’s stranger offspring and one particularly large, watchful member of her lineage. We’ll be showing off the full set soon in our release post—and who knows, there may even be another reveal coming to our community Discord before then…
